Our Haunted Travels Location Collection

1856 Pickles and Ketchup

These items were recovered from the Steamboat Arabia which sank in the Missouri River in 1856. They were preserved for over 130 years until 1988 when the site was excavated and the largest collection of pre-Civil War artifacts was discovered. They now reside at the Senator John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh under refrigeration. We took these photos when we visited the museum in October of 2018.
