Earnest Hemingway's Penny
When Hemingway returned to the house in Key West and found the expensive swimming in place of his boxing ring. When he found out how much it cost to have it installed, he yelled to his wife, "Pauline, you’ve spent all but my last penny, so you might as well have that, ” and he flung down this 1934 penny which is now permanently encased as part of the side walk next to the pool.
